Martha Mae Jones is a fabric artist who has built a rich and successful life by drawing on art and political activism while traveling the globe. Throughout it all, she says, her creations, and her life choices, have come from heeding inner voices.

Those inner voices enable Ms. Jones to draw from a spiritually creative well with depths encompassing a rich first-hand knowledge of Haitian culture, African-American activism, and extensive textile arts and weaving training in Paris and Sweden.

As an artist, she is inspired and guided by the spirits within the fabrics she works with -another aspect of heeding her inner voice. Each piece of wearable art is hand cut and sewn with globally sourced recycled and vintage materials from Ghana, the Congo, China, the United States, and India, among other places. She presents her one of a kind creations painted on silk.
