The Unofficial Guide to Boarding school
The Unofficial Guide to Boarding school
The boarding school world can be tough to navigate at times. Luckily, two Phillips Academy students created a guided journal to help guide you (or your child) through your first year at boarding school.
The (Unofficial) Guide to Boarding School is a guided journal designed to help students plan, organize, and refocus during their entry into boarding schools. Filled with tips, guidance, and organizational tools, the journal is everything a student could need.
Vetted by child psychologist Dr. Ayanna Quinones we know that the journal will help students. Mental health matters, and in order to thrive academically, athletically, and socially, we need to prioritize it.
This guide, informed by our experiences and Dr. Quinones’ expertise, addresses the diverse challenges of boarding school life. Offering planning strategies, goal-setting exercises, and reflection prompts, it empowers students to navigate academic rigor, social dynamics, and homesickness with confidence, fostering success in all aspects of their journey. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. We are excited to share this resource with students embarking on their boarding school adventures, knowing that it has the potential to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
