Audra Lorde (1934 - 1992) was an international professor, publisher, philosopher, poet, and human rights activist. Her advocacy of marginalized people led her to start the Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press in 1980. She became the first US publisher for women of color. Her work on shedding light on race, gender, and identity was trailblazing leaving an indelible mark on identity, equality, and voice.
